Caring for your Furniture

Care & Maintenance: An important factor often overlooked when considering a purchase. This is why the maintenance of our furniture is straightforward and easy so you can keep your furniture beautiful and protected for many years of enjoyment.
David recommends washing off the furniture before putting it away for the winter. In the fall, simply wash the furniture and let it dry. Any scuffs or scratches that may have occurred during the season can be lightly sanded out with 220 grit sandpaper.
Wipe the entire chair using a clean cotton cloth and denatured alcohol, which will dry very quickly. Then apply a coat of Teak Oil using a cotton cloth. (Follow the manufacturers instructions).
Most Teak Oil is wiped on and then wiped again with a dry cloth after 5 – 15 minutes to remove any excess. It is important to remove any excess since any residual Teak Oil that pooled or didn’t soak in will be tacky and create a shiny spot on the furniture. If this were to happen, you can remove the excess dried Teak Oil by lightly sanding it away with 220 grit sandpaper, wipe clean with denatured alcohol and then wipe on a coat of Teak Oil, let it set for 5 – 15 minutes and then wipe with a clean dry cloth.
Be sure to follow the Teak Oil manufacturers instructions.
By performing this simple process at the end of each season, your furniture will stay in great condition for many years of enjoyment.
